About Me…

For the latest on Mobile Development, User Acquisition and Retention, you should follow me on twitter!!!

I’m Atley and I have what you might call a little tech problem.  I am a geek, scratch that I am an ENORMOUS GEEK.  I am the guy in your neighbourhood that makes all the streetlights dim when he turns on all of his computers.   I’ve been a geek since I can remember and I expect, anyday now, to be the subject of an intervention.

I have been a developer for over 20 years.  I’m what you might call a huge phone geek and I get to live the dream of creating the apps I want to. My days are varied and full of challenges, but most of all, lots of fun!    I tend to be an early adopter of all sorts of technology and always go over the top, much to the dismay of my family and my bank account! I’m a huge gadget freak and always have tons of tech within reach, most of the time quite literally!  I keep at least two fully functioning domains going in my house as well as several different platforms and lots of gadgets.

Aside from being a terminal geek, I am an avid adventurer.  Snowboarding, rappelling, bungie jumping, skydiving, base jumping, mountain/rock/structure climbing…  if it is hard, I want to see if I can do it.

In order to tear me away from the technologies that I surround myself with, something has to be pretty exciting, unique or challenging.  That is why I am a bit of an extreme sports enthusiast.  I love any kind of challenge, the more difficult the better.

I love learning and often forsake everything else to bury myself in a new technology.   I also love to share information, so always feel free to ask me a question, I’m always happy to help!

I have met Mr. Hunter personally and I can attest to all of the above.

Is there any way of sending you an email. I was at the Ajax meet and you asked me to send you a sudoku app if I ever got round to writing it. It’s getting near the end, but I don’t have an email address and cannot find a way to contact you on here. Been a bit of an uphill struggle having to take in Xaml, Silverlight, phone technology, VSE for phone, Blend etc in one bite.
    I can be contacted as

    Hey Atley
My dad is Karl Scharnitzky. He recommended I get in touch w/you about a question I have related to Blackberry Apps.

    • Atley says

Not sure, but I did reply to you previously. Did you find the answer to your question on Blackberry apps?

Atley – do you take on design/development projects for Windows Phone 7/8? My company is in need of more developers to subcontract our high profile app development jobs to. Let me know. We need great designers, and developers. If you have anyone to refer, that’d be great.
